Overview polypropylene fittings market in Ukraine

    In the previous article, I already told you about the marking of fittings made of polypropylene. Today I will make a brief analysis of the market of this product in Ukraine.

Fittings from PPR

It is important to start from talking about the materials from which the fittings are made. To do this, the best option is male with an external thread. Since it in itself combines two basic materials - polymer and metal. As a plastic, in most cases a random polypropylene copolymer of the third type PPR is used. As for cheaper products, other components (for example, chalk) can be added to the primary and secondary polymer, which impair the properties of the plastic. Accordingly, higher-quality plants use only primary raw materials in granules.

If you study the issue of hydraulics, you can see that the first positions are occupied by the brands Dizayn, Valtec and Fado. Since they have a larger cross-sectional size than other manufacturers.

An important factor in the installation may be the overall dimensions of the fitting. If the space is limited in size, then naturally large items may not be suitable in this case. The most ergonomic unions are in the range of companies SPK, Valtec and ASG-Plast.

As in many aspects of comparing other products, weight also plays a significant role. But here it is necessary to divide the concept into the total weight and weight of the embedded part. Not in all cases the biggest weight of the fitting means that it will have the most massive mortgage element.

Among the 15 samples of different manufacturers, the following brands - Blue Ocean, Ekoplastik and Fado - have the largest weight of the mortgage element.

But in addition to weight, other factors are also important.

Functionally embedded part acts as a guarantor of reliability and safety. Its design is developed to ensure that it has protection against pulling out of the polymer body of the fitting. And also resisted scrolling. The latter is possible during installation when the coupling is heated. As a rule, to protect against scrolling in the design, the prongs on the back of the element are provided.

Ring-shaped longitudinal grooves also provide protection against tearing. In them polypropylene comes into production. The more of them, the better the grip.

Another solution to protect against tearing is to perform an internal shutter. The construction is a shoulder, protruding into the middle of the embedded part. It also improves the grip on the fitting body.

The maximum number of teeth (6 pcs.) and the shutter are couplings of the following brands: Tebo, Febo, Ekoplastik and Blue ocean.

The material of the embedded element plays a role. The brass of CW617N brand proved to be the best. A cheaper option is steel. But this material has a short service life in heating and water supply systems.

A significant point in the installation is the presence of a notch on the thread. It improves the adhesion of sealants to the body of the fitting. It does not have only a small part of the couplings.

The main load during operation is the thread of the embedded part. Because of its thickness is of great importance. Leaders on this indicator are practically the same: Тebo, Fado, Ekoplastik, Blue ocean and VS-Plast.

Among the interesting features, you can also recall special marks on the TM Tebo fittings. The fitting of this manufacturer is issued with the index of the depth of the welding

   The belt is intended for connecting polypropylene pipes by the diffusion coupling method. The pipe enters the socket of the part (angle, coupling, tee, etc.) to the depth of the welding mark. To fix the depth of the pipe insertion into the connector, a mark is placed on it. In this case, the installer must constantly keep in mind information about the depth of the welding belt for different diameters and draw a marker. Plus, you need a ruler or roulette. If there is an index of the depth of the welding belt, the person performing the installation only applies a pipe to the fitting and, according to a special notch, leaves a mark. This at times reduces the complexity and time of installation.

Summing up, I can say that the most preferable option for buying ppr-fittings in Ukraine is the following TM: Tebo, Fado, Ekoplastik, Blue ocean and Valtec.
